  A New Beginning

Foster dogs can't have a new beginning, but with your help they can get the help that they need to have a new ending. BARC has helped over 300 dogs find new homes! We need your help to continue to do so. If you have the desire to help, a soft spot for a dog to sleep and a hand and heart to show a discarded dog some much needed love, please contact us. Fostering a dog is truly saving a life.

My dog lives here - sweet poem about sharing your home with your pet

Emma has fully recovered from hip dysplasia. She had to sleep on a bed on the floor for a few months after the surgery but now she's back on the bed every night (she needs doggie stairs to get up on the bed now but after a little training, she uses them with ease). She is also in the process of becoming a Therapy dog.

She's come a long way from that straggly little girl that was picked up on the golf course! Thanks again for saving her and giving us the opportunity to adopt each other for she has truly adopted me as her own!

Attached is a picture from our daughter Alicia and our son Billy. They are so very excited to have Chance in our family and this is their way to say thank you. She is doing well so far and has completely made herself at home. Her and one of our cats were even cuddled up together last night.

Ginger was on the euthanasia list at the county pound. She was taken in by BARC and adopted shortly thereafter. She is now a very loved member of a great family! Here she is in her Halloween costume.

We adopted Jetta (formerly Peanut) early this past summer.  She is a great dog and is fitting in wonderfully with our family! She loves to play with her toys and go on walks around the neighborhood. She is definitely a spoiled beagle!  We are so happy that we were able to work with BARC to find a dog that is perfect for us. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped Jetta find her way to us.

Lacey is a mild-mannered, friendly, sweet, gentle, and well behaved beagle with a beautiful smile. We know she had a sad past before coming to BARC and she did need time to learn that she was safe and loved. She has finally come out of her shell and now her personality sparkles through in everything she does. She likes her belly rubbed, she loves to eat, she likes to play, she wrestles in the backyard with her brother Beau (also from BARC). She ONLY barks when she gets excited (usually at meal time or when we say "potty walk"), she loves to go on walks, she likes the dog park, she likes to bury treats and then dig them up, and she likes to be in bed by 10:30. Lacey is wonderful beagle. We are so happy we have her.

Beau (formally known as Rascal) is the best beagle in the world! He's been a part of our family for a little over a year now and we can't imagine life any other way. From the beginning he has fit right in at home. He is the sweetest boy. He loves his dog door and learned how to use it in about 3 minutes. He loves treats and when we rub his belly. If we are petting him and then stop, Beau paws at us as if you say, "Hey, keep petting me!" He is quite affectionate. He loves to go on walks and hikes. He's even been to the top of Camelback Mountain! Thank you to BARC for helping us find our best friend.

Shilo is doing great! He is such a good dog & we love having him. I think he is very happy too! He loves sleeping in his doggy bed we got him & it is right next to our bed! He wakes up our daughter every morning to get ready for school & is so funny when we get home from work - that is the only time he howls of excitement or we could leave for 15 minutes & he does the same thing! We just could not be happier!

We are so thrilled with ScoutÖ.we say on a daily basis what a good boy he is! It has been almost 3 months since we adopted him and we wanted to send you a few photos to reassure you that Scout has truly found his forever home. Scoutís personality is such a perfect match for us, and we think he is very happy being the center of attention.

With the addition of Snoopy I now have three beagles and one rescued New Zealand Blue Healer (Sophie). I met Snoopy at a Pet Smart where I was volunteering for BARC (just before Christmas) and it was love at first sight. I had recently adopted Gypsy from BARC a few months prior. Thanks to my Beagles I am ready for a three dog night. Beagles Rule!

The dogs had some special Purina puppy ice cream on their birthday, and loved it! We can't get enough of our babies. Tag and Cash bring so much joy to our life, and are the center of ALL attention whenever there is a crowd over. I swear they put on a show! Our friends say they are the only dogs that they'll let lick them, and they LOVE to lick. I go bike riding with them every morning, and they love every minute of it. Thank you for having such a great organization to have brought these babies to us!

Jake seems very happy here... we are all doing well. He is loved.

Emma is doing AWESOME! We've been through the Petsmart beginner training class and we are completely bonded now. . She is truly a HAPPY dog! I love her so much! Thank you very much for saving her! If it wasn't for BARC, we wouldn't have found each other. I recommend you to everyone I know that wants a beagle.

We have had Blue for a few weeks now and she is such a great dog! We are so happy that she is a part of our family now. She loves to go on walks around the neighborhood and to play with her toys. She is fitting in well with us and our other beagle, Cookie. We are so thankful that we were able to adopt Blue from such a great organization!

We have had Eva a total of 4 weeks and we love her like she has been part of the family for years. Eva loves going for walks and car rides. She is also a bed hog for such a small little girl but we don't mind sharing the bed with her. Missy and Eva love to play tug-of-war together. Eva tries her best to win but Missy is a lot bigger and stronger. Thank you for letting us take Eva and give her the love that she so much deserves and needed.

Sweet Charlotte and her older beagle brother Max take a long nap on a comfortable couch after a big day of play.

This sweet puppy is now named Snoopy. We are really enjoying him, and I think he likes us too! He's such a good boy! Thanks so much for our happy little guy!

We got Bucky when he was just 8 weeks old. He's become a member of our family and is great with our kids and their friends. Bucky has a sweet personality and likes to be held. He loves to retrieve a tennis ball; he's a fast little runner! He is healthy and happy. We love having him in our family!

Barnaby is such a good little dog and I really enjoy his company. The first day my dog claimed the really nice blanket that one of his foster homes had given him, but that night she got her comeuppance when he decided, he preferred her bed! They are so silly.

Mylee the beagle and her brother Knuckles the boxer are great playmates and get along wonderfully. They love each other and are playing together more than ever.

Izzy the young beagle is much loved by her new buddy Jax. They play until she tired and then they sleep side by side. The entire family adores her!

Sweet little Winston, the beagle mix, found a new best friend in Willis. Beagles usually do better in two's and three's. Twice the fun and love!

This is one lucky beagle! She had a pitiful past but is now living an ideal life. Emma has people that love her a lot and a beagle buddy named Zoe as a new best friend. "I can't thank you enough for her. She has brought so much joy and happiness into our lives. She is happy and doing well."

Hard to believe that there's any beagle in Emily, until you hear her bark. Thank you BARC for allowing her beagle mom to have her puppies while safely in your care. She is sweet and smart and a much loved addition to our home.

Henry is doing great. He has really warmed up to me. He hardly barks. He loves his walks. I walk him morning and night. He loves to play with his toys and he loves to snuggle in my blankets. He is really a sweet boy. He was so excited when I got home yesterday after being gone a few hours. He ran and ran from the garage into the house about 3 or 4 times. Then he snuggled with me on the couch. It was just cute.

Many of you have been wondering when you would hear baby news from us. Well, itís finally hereÖwe decided to adopt a one year old little boy. I know it sounds sudden but the adoption was fairly simple and quick. The little boy was abandoned by his previous parents. Once we met him we could not resist his beautiful eyes and shiny red hair. We knew in an instant we could give him a good home with lots of love and attention. We were able to pick him up this afternoon so he could be with us for Christmas. We are so excited to have him and know his life will be full of love.

The only thing better than one beagle is two! Barney and Eddie are lucky to be brothers since they were both adopted by the same great couple. The younger boy Barney has to teach the elder Eddie how to play since it was a part of life that he had not yet known. When the boys are not sleeping on the couch they are playing tag in the yard. They are two much loved dogs

Hunter is a sweet, gentle, calm and loving boy. He and his beagle sister Daisy both sleep under the covers with us at night. During the day we will find them playing and chasing each other around the house. He enjoys daily walks where he can use his beagle nose to sniff the flowers and rabbits. One of his favorite pastimes is lying on the back of the couch where he can watch the world go by. We are so lucky to have adopted Hunter. Heís a sweetheart that we'll love forever

Meet Bentley. She was quickly adopted by her foster family since she fit so well into their pack. She was given up by a someone that could no longer care for her and adopted by a family that will now spoil her forever. Fostering is a good way to give a second chance to a dog and find a new best friend.

Bowie is thrilled to have an owner who works from home. He gets a lot of attention from his owner and also play time with dogs of family and friends. He settled quickly into his new home and put on a few pounds that were needed to keep this beagle boy happy and healthy!

Fonzie is shown here with his beagle buddy Daisy. This lucky beagle who was once a stray is now loving life with a couple that adores him and he has plenty of playtime with the six other dogs in the house.

In just one short week Libbie has become part of our family and everyone just loves her. Her first day here was party central and she got to meet everyone in the family plus some family friends. She and Oliver were both totally exhausted that night. She has adjusted so well. In fact we call her "Miss" Libbie and she has taken over my couch!!. She and Oliver get along great!

Maddie will go, go, go; then, sleep so hard! She loves to chase & be chased. She's eating well and is very polite when taking food - at dinner she sits ON HER OWN and waits until last for her bowl to be put down. And, she eats "like a lady". She's one big love packaged in a petite frame. She loves to "hunt" geckos along the wall in the back yard. She also loves to go on walks . . . everything's a new adventure.

This middle-aged beagle had a short stay in foster care before being adopted by a couple that adores him. Before too long in his new home he went on his first vacation to San Diego to a pet friendly hotel on the beach. This lucky and loved dog is now named Diego and his owners are recently engaged! Best wishes to Gretchen and Tim and to their long and happy life together with Diego!

Minnie is doing great. We actually changed her name to Lucy, and she's beginning to respond to it. She and Charlie have quickly become best friends and follow each other everywhere. Lucy's quite smart and can sometimes get herself into trouble, but we are working on being more careful about leaving food on the counter (she's quite a climber!) and closing doors (she can open doors if they aren't shut all the way!). Thanks for helping us find Lucy and bringing her into our family.

Karmi has been the perfect addition to the family and she made herself right at home the first day. There are daily wrestling matches in the backyard and howling contests, and both her and my other beagle, Chloe, are happy to finally have constant playmates. She is such a sweetheart, and her tail's always wagging a mile a minute. She's full of energy and makes a great running partner, and she makes friends everywhere we go.

Senorita Lolita is the sweetest dog that has ever been in this house - and there have been many! She came into my life as my foster dog and quickly found her place in my pack and in my heart. She is so appreciative to be with other dogs and people and know that she's got her "forever home" with us. She loves to take naps outside in the sun and is the first one to the door when it's time to take a walk. We are so very lucky to have her.

Chip is a dog that should be cloned - who could ever believe that this guy was abandoned in his first year of life? He came to our home weighing only 14 pounds and could squeeze through the pool fence. After one week of a lot of love and many treats he is no longer able to do this. He plays like a puppy but behaves champ. He puts his paws on your shoulder like he's giving a hug and will be the best friend of anyone in the family that will let him bury himself in their bed.

Cleo is adjusting quite well to her new home and loves walks. She is quite fond of chasing lizards and runs around bushes, tries to get under the bushes, and jumps on top of the bushes to try to get the lizards. She never catches them, of course, but keeps trying.

We just love Mookie (formerly known as Charlie Brown) and he is fitting in to our family well. When my husband and I go to work, he goes to a dog sitterís home and plays with ten other dogs. He is also in obedience training and can sit, lie down, come and drop it on command. We are still working on loose leash walking; he does great when there are no distractions, but a minute another dog or people go by, all bets are off!

Thank you for bringing Brownie (now Bonnie) to us. She did just fine. It's almost like she's always lived with us. She is such a treasure. We really feel blessed to have found her and B.A.R.C. I prayed for the right dog to come to our world and she certainly is PERFECT!!!

We thought you would like to know that Fenix is doing really well with us. She has found her place in the people and puppy pack. Walks are a handful with 3 beagles (and very loud), but so much fun. Fenix has not had any accidents in the house; she is in and out of the doggie door at her leisure. She is a real lap dog and so sweet, she follows me around everywhere. We are really enjoying her.
